Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review

About the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is one of the great cameras by Samsung that  comes with a high quality camera and enhanced resolution and other important features that are beneficial for the overall usage. If you want to move from iPhone to another phone then this will be your first choice. This is the comprehensive  Galaxy S22 Ultra review we have discussed why it is a bit overpriced and how it will fulfil the demands of the modern users and what are the different unit functions, design and display features.

For example, one of the reasons why it is so expensive is that it contains an S pen , is lighter in weight, and battery is quite large.  Moreover, you will only have to wait for a few minutes for the complete charging procedure.

The charger of this phone will charge your phone 45 mins earlier than any other phone including the Apple iPhone 13 Pro.

Design

The design of Galaxy S22 Ultra has the potential to impress in the first look. It is very beautiful, moreover when you will see  the overall functionality, you will love the way how it is matched and incorporated into the design. Basically these are compact phones with simple interfaces and easy to use appearance.

If we talk specifically about the touch screen, it is 6.8 inches. It means that you can easily watch and access everything with the clear display touches. Although usually you may feel some difficulty in moving the arrows to the right or left direction, it is overall an easy design that looks modern as well. When we compare the size of the screen to other phones, we come to know that it is a little larger than the apple’s iPhone that has a 6.7 inch screen. We are talking about the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The weight is also quite reasonable and comparable to the similar devices as it is only 8 ounces. However, the Apple iPhone is 8.5 which shows that the S22 phone is quite lighter and smarter.

The design not only looks appealing , it is also very sturdy and durable. However, we have not conducted any drop test otherwise we would have been quite experienced about how strong the alloy steel frame is.

Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Burgundy are the colour possibilities for the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Display

When we observe the Galaxy S22 Ultra Samsung has considerably improved itself. Now we can confidently say that the progressive 120 hertz refresh rate and other features are present in the phone that give it a high display quality.

A great display feature known as the Vision Booster Function is something that you can use to change the brightness automatically during the daytime. It simply means that you do not have to adjust the brightness, instead you only have to turn this feature on. So when you are out in this piercing sunlight, you do not have to worry about the brightness adjustment. After checking the display quality and the image clarity in the sunlight, we came to know that the Galaxy S22 Ultra is more efficient in performance than pixel 6 Pro and even iPhone 13 Pro Max.

We observed the display of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Google pixel 6 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max at the same time by placing them at the similar location and height. The results were quite interesting. The Galaxy S22 Ultra produced the noticeable brightness which was much more prominent as compared to the other two phones.

SamsungS22Ultra

When viewing a preview for the Multiverse of Madness, the display on this Galaxy S22 Ultra displayed brilliant landscape and a wide range of vision, as well as fluent animation during action sequences. Lab tests were also quite hopeful that gave us quite a deep understanding of the display of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Remember that the maximum brightness of this phone is 1359 nits which is considerably greater than the iPhone 13 which has only 1038 nits. Moreover, the Google pixel 6 Pro also has a very low level of brightness, which is 842 nits but this may be piercing at times. From this discussion we can easily say that the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes up with the most enhanced performance and the greatest brightness efficiency.

Colour accuracy of the S22 Ultra is very exceptional. However, the colour reproduction is not much better as compared to the iPhone. Remember that the Delta colour reproduction score of S22 Ultra phone is 0.25. However, it should be zero or closer to zero.

Also note that iPhone 13 Pro Max has the colour reproduction level of 0.21 which makes it better in colour reproduction performance as compared to S22 Ultra.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is one of the first phones to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 microprocessor, a 4nm device that delivers improved CPU and visual performance while still being more energy-efficient. In overseas markets, Samsung will provide its own 4nm Exynos 2200 chip.

Despite having just 8GB of RAM, the Galaxy S22 Ultra opens and closes apps with ease. In fact, whether opening or shutting apps, the S22 Ultra seemed quicker than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. In the Drive Club game, the S22 Ultra also provided intense gameplay while blasting around the course. The same is true for Call of Duty Mobile; we didn’t observe any hiccups while mowing down many foes.

Due to Samsung’s deceptive ambient filtering and trickery, Geekbench has removed the Galaxy S22 Ultra and other Galaxy smartphones.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra received a single-core rank of 1,240 and a multi-core score of 3,392 on Geekbench 5, which evaluates overall performance. The Galaxy S21 Ultra scored 1,123 on the single-core test but 3,440 on the multi-core test. Geekbench informed us that there may be a problem with the S22 Ultra’s CPU and throttling throughout the test, therefore we will update if this is fixed.

Last but not least, we conducted a graphics rendering experiment with the Adobe Premiere Rush program, converting a 4K movie clip to 1080p. The Galaxy S22 Ultra completed the challenge in 47 seconds, which is significantly faster than the S21 Ultra’s 1:02. The iPhone 13 Pro Max took only 25 seconds, but the Pixel 6 Pro took 48 seconds, which was equivalent to the Galaxy S22 Ultra.  The Galaxy S22 Ultra starts with 128GB of RAM, but for $1,199, we’d prefer to see 256GB as the standard storage. When you buy, you may increase to 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, but there is no expandable storage through a microSD card.

If you’re looking for cutting-edge wifi, the Galaxy S22 Ultra includes Wi-Fi 6E access, which Samsung claims is twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6.

Samsung’s OneUI 4.1 software, which runs on top of Android 12, powers the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This design, according to Samsung, is more straightforward and functional than earlier iterations, and there’s a new data privacy navigation system for further tranquillity. Samsung is also promoting Samsung Wallet, which can merge your digital payment information, ID, and other information into a single tool. Comparable to Apple’s iOS 15 software SharePlay, the new Google Duo app allows you to exchange files and documents during video conversations.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a massive 5,000 mAh battery that Samsung claims would last more than a day in normal use. With the 60Hz frequency set on, the S22 Ultra’s greatest battery capacity so far is 10 hours and 18 minutes on T-network.  When it comes to charging, the Galaxy S22 Ultra delivers 45W charging, which is an advance over the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s 25W charging. Samsung claims that you’ll reach 50% in 20 minutes, which is around 10 minutes faster than the S21 Ultra.

Our Galaxy S22 Ultra was charged to 36 percent in 15 minutes and 67 percent in 30 minutes using a 45W charger. While this is faster than a 25W charger with the identical phone (29 percent / 58 percent), the difference isn’t significant.

Camera

Till now we have discussed a lot about Google pixel 6 Pro but now we need to define the pixels; the cameras. As we have discussed, this phone has come integrated with computational photography, it has the potential to be at the top of the best camera phones. To make this phone the number one preferred choice of the photographers and video makers, Google has introduced various upgrades including the introduction of the new and the latest hardware that can support the quality software algorithms and also cope with the Tensor strengths.

Till now we can observe that the sensor of this phone is 15 megapixels which means that it is quite powerful. The camera is ultra-wide and gives you a very vast field of view. We can say that you should proceed with Google pixel 6 Pro if you want to enjoy a 20x digital zone that is combined with AI power technology. In this way, you will be able to get the finest images. If you observe various features of the camera individually, we come to know that the Tensor chip has provided it with great functionality. For example, the camera comes with the Magic Eraser which seems like a super video and photo editing tool. However, the simplicity of the tool makes it accessible to everyone. By using just one option, you can effectively remove all types of unwanted items.

We know that previously it was quite difficult to remove the unwanted items such as removal of background or any other item that needs to be eliminated from the photo or video. But now the pixel 6 pro has made it super easy and convenient with the help of Magic Eraser.

The best part is that Google itself has claimed that this eraser will work best on beaches and parks which means that you can adore photos with the beautiful scenery and background by removing the previous one and adding the new ones. This feature has helped the pixel 6 Pro get stacks and piles of likes and appreciation. People are so interested in using this feature that it has made it a king of the best camera phones.

When we compare photos taken with the iPhone 13 Pro Max and Google pixel 6 Pro, we come to know that the pictures that are taken with the help of the iPhone 13 Pro Max are more saturated. However, if you want to see the functionality of the Pixel 6 Pro image, you will be convinced that it shows quite clear results. Remember that the field of view of the pixel 6 is quite wide as compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. It means that you can capture more of the landscape which is particularly helpful while you are out at the beach and want to take a wider view of the scenery.

On the other hand, if you want to bring a picture close to the focus, you can use an iPhone X that gives more focus to the face and other tiny objects in the images. So it totally depends on how you want to use this phone. If you are a kind of photographer who loves photographing natural objects or water fields, you can proceed with pixel 6 Pro.

Price

The Epic S22 Ultra 1TB is available for 134999 with 32000 in extra bonuses. You’ll get 5G compatibility, a far nicer screen with three cameras instead of just one, a bigger screen with a greater refresh rate, and other features that make the S22 ultra well worth the premium. Again, software support is one of the most compelling reasons to choose Samsung’s new phone.

Summary

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most flexible and robust Android phone available outside of a convertible. This phone has the finest screen we’ve ever seen, and Samsung’s cameras have improved dramatically, particularly in low light. Furthermore, the strong zoom remains unrivalled.

Is the £300 premium for the Galaxy S22 Ultra over the Google Pixel 6 Pro justified? It’s not an easy decision. While the S Pen is quicker and slicker than before, not everyone enjoys it. In certain cases, the main camera of the Pixel 6 Pro is superior. The iPhone 13 Pro Max, on the other hand, is speedier than the S22 Ultra, lasts longer on a battery, and takes decent pics (with the exception of low light shots). Nonetheless, I like the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s sleeker look and more effective magnification.

Overall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the greatest luxury Android phone, and it’s a good second choice.
